The U12s have been invited to the Tilburg Youth Cup in the Netherlands over the May bank holiday weekend — 24 teams from five countries.

The coach, two nights in a youth hostel and the entry fee come to about £2,400 for the squad and its coaches. Families are paying what they can; this appeal makes sure no player stays at home because of the cost.

Gift Aid is switched off for this one: HMRC does not allow it where families are paying towards their own child’s place.

How to give

Bank transfer to Mow Town FC — sort code 00-00-00, account 00000000 (demo details). Use the player’s name as the reference.
Or cash to your team manager at training. Talk to Penny (treasurer) if money is tight — nobody misses out.

Please say it is for “U12s Summer Tour to the Netherlands”.

Thanks to you, the coach is booked and the entry fee is paid. Next: the hostel. The squad have been practising their Dutch — mostly “dank je wel”.
